Plague is a health risk for individuals involved in prairie dog contact. Although a few cases of human plague occur in the western United States each year, there have not been any recent cases of humans contracting plague in New Mexico.
As a part time resident and avid pedestrian of Angel Fire I feel it is my responsibility to alert the bureaucracy, residents, and businesspeople of Angel Fire about the challenges and problems that face this truly special community of ours.
